Bone builders is a research-based exercise program developed by Tufts University. This is an exercise and education program designed to prevent and help alleviate osteoporosis and improve general fitness. Each session consists of balance, strengthening, and stretching exercises. Some utilize hand or leg weights. Exercise groups are led by RSVP volunteers, and supported by a trained RSVP staff member. The group exercise sessions, which last about one hour, are held once a week in a community setting. A typical group ranges from 8 to 18 participants aged 50 and beyond. Men and women are welcome. Bone Builders sessions include valuable health information such as nutrition and exercise. Currently, exercise sessions are free of charge. Equipment to begin the program is provided.
This program is free and open to the public, no registration is required.

Programs and Services
For many Central New Yorkers this is where independence starts…
With sites in Cazenovia, Hamilton, and Sherburne, Adult Day Services helps people remain in their own homes by providing many of the services available to Crouse Community Center residents. A handicapped-accessible van transports individuals between their homes and Day Services. An onsite social worker assists the elderly and handicapped with housing needs, banking, personal paperwork, and recertification for Medicaid. A registered nurse monitors and coordinates the care plan of each adult day health participant.
